MULTI-LEVEL ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM - EKCOI

LEVEL FIVE

By the completion of level five, students will be able to:

  • Knowledge of music notation appropriate to their ability

  • Have a progressive comprehension of the rudiments  of music

  • To sight-read up to 8-bars hands together

  • Play Db, Eb, Gb, Ab, C#, F#, major and minor scales hands separately and together

  • Construct primary triads in I - IV - V in C, D, E, F, G, A, major and minor

  • Improvise over the 12-bar blues progression

  • Improvise in C, D, G, F, major and A, E, D, minor

  • Arpeggios in C, D, E, F, G, &  A major and minor, hands separately and together

  • Arpeggios in Bb, Eb, & Ab hands separately

  • Accompany a simple lead sheets

  • Accompany  singer/s or an instrumentalist/s

  • Create accompaniments in LH in  4/4 -  3/4 2/4 – 6/8

  • Compose an extend work for publication with a harmonic progression

  • Sing the major, harmonic, and melodic scales in solfege and other short melodies

  • Interval recognition P1, M2, M3, P4, P5, M6, M7, P8, m2, m3, m6, m7, tritone

  • Major, minor, diminished, and augmented chord recognition

  • Play short melodies with accompaniment by ear

  • Participate in a concert, competition or external music examination

  • Record a CD

  • Follow orchestral scores
