MULTI-LEVEL ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM - EKCOI™

LEVEL ONE

By the completion of level one, students will be able to: 

• Read music notation appropriate to their ability

• Comprehend basic rudiments of music

• To sight-read up to 4-bars hands separately

• Play (all) major and minor scales in 3435(rh) and 5343(lh) position, hands separately

• Play C and G major and A minor scales hands together

• Construct primary triads in I - IV - V in C, G major and A, E, minor.

• Compose or improvise short melodies

• Create variation accompaniments in LH  in 4/4 & 3/4

• Compose at least one 8 bar work in C position

• Sing the major scale in solfege and other short melodies

• Interval recognition P1, P4, P5, P8

• Major and minor chord recognition

• Play short melodies by ear

• Participate in a concert, competition or external music examination

• Record a CD
