LEVEL TWO

By the completion of level two, students will be able to: 

• Knowledge of music notation appropriate to their ability

• Comprehend standard rudiments of music

• To sight-read up to 8-bars hands separately

• Play C , D, E, G, and A, major and minor scales hands separately and together

• Construct primary triads in I – IV - V in C, D, E, G, and A, major and minor keys

• Compose or improvise short melodies

• Create variation accompaniments in LH in 4/4 & 3/4

• Understanding the difference between simple time and compound 6/8 time

• Compose at least one 8 bar work with a simple harmonic progression

• Sing the major scale in solfege and other short melodies

• Interval recognition P1, M2, M3, P4, P5, M6, M7, P8

• Major and minor chord recognition

• Play short melodies by ear

• Participate in a concert, competition or external music examination

• Record a CD
